Floyd Instruments Pty Ltd - the name synonymous with industrial measurement requirements.
We are Australia’s leading supplier and only manufacturer of a wide range of pressure gauges and industrial thermometers. We are also distributors for Crystal test pressure gauges and Reotemp bimetallic thermometers.
For over seventy years Floyd has locally manufactured a comprehensive range of quality industrial measuring equipment and as Australia’s sole manufacturer we specialize in manufacturing gauges to customer requirements. Pressure gauges are manufactured with various mounting configurations with dial diameters from 50mm to 300mm. Thermometers dial diameters can be from 25mm to 200mm. Other special manufactured items include analogue test gauges, safety pattern, oxygen, refrigeration, duplex and low-pressure capsule gauges. A wide variety of diaphragm seals can also be fitted to gauges for use on corrosive applications or where mediums contain solids.
From our production and sales facility at Melbourne as well as our branch office in Sydney we offer a first class professional manufacturing and technical sales team that are committed to manufacture and supply quality product and outstanding service.
History
Our original company J A Floyd & Co was founded over seventy years ago by James Atkinson Floyd and has operated since that time in Melbourne, Victoria.
The first manufacturing facility was located at Moonee Ponds in Melbourne and operated there for over thirty years and then North Essendon for a similar period of time.
J A Floyd deservedly gained industry wide reputation for being the leading manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of industrial measuring product particularly Bourdon, Capsule, and Diaphragm Seal type Pressure Gauges, in addition to a range of Industrial Thermometers.
By 2004 J A Floyd remained as the only manufacturer of industrial measuring equipment still operational in Australia and it was in that year a program of change was put in place to develop a more focused and innovative manufacturing and sales oriented company.
During 2004/05 the company undertook both a name change to Floyd Instruments Pty Ltd and saw the relocation of all production, repair, sales, and administration to new modern facilities situated in Tullamarine.
A branch office was also established in Sydney during this period.
The last few years has certainly seen vast changes in all aspects of Floyd’s operations which have all been developed to ensure that the company can and will continue to offer the manufacturing capability and technical sales professionalism that we have proudly achieved during the previous seventy years.
